EBU on European Institutional level
The European Buddhist Union is active in several European institutions. It represents European Buddhists to the Council of Europe, the European Union and other European institutions. The team keeps its members informed on important European issues.

The EBU in Brussels
The EBU aims to strengthen the work at the EU level in Brussels and has signed up the common transparency register of the European Parliament and the European Commission.
EBU-representatives are regularly invited to conferences and high-level meetings in the frame of the Article 17 TFEU dialogue with churches, religious associations and philosophical and non-confessional organisations.
The focus of the EBU-activities lies on:
- The European New Green Deal.
- SASCE Internal Security Fund, protection of places of worship
- Promotion and protection of freedom of religion or belief
- Human rights
- Education
- Animal Welfare

The EBU has been granted participatory status in the Conference of INGOs (CINGO) at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg in 2008. Since then, a team of EBU-Delegates has been an active partner in various committees and working groups.
On the initiative of the EBU and other faith-based NGOs, the Committee for Interreligious and Interconvictional Dialogue (CIRICD) has been adopted by the Conference of INGOs. It aims the creation of a permanent platform for dialogue between representatives of religions and non-confessional NGOs in the Council of Europe
