YHSE will promote and maintain Buddhism at the international level, which in the present case will occur primarily in Europe.
The primary canonical text of the Association is the Lotus Sutra ("Sutra of the Lotus Flower of the Wonderful Law"), and the Association’s practices are based on the traditions of the "Yun Hwa Denomination of World Social Buddhism". This Buddhist denomination was founded by and is under the spiritual guidance of the Supreme Matriarch Ji Kwang Dae Poep Sa Nim.
Social Buddhism is directly descended from the teachings and practices of the historical Shakyamuni Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama). The goal of Social Buddhism is to bring the realisation of Buddha (the absolute, the truth) into our social life, and to attain clarity and enlightenment. The Social Buddhist ideal is to follow the Buddha Dharma (teachings) in daily life in order to fulfil one’s correct functions as a human being in the workplace and in personal relationships, demonstrating the meaning of success and happiness.
The Yun Hwa Sangha Europe sees itself as non-partisan and is open to all Buddhist schools and traditions. The Association is dedicated to fostering mutual help with the intention of enabling all beings to live in this world in peace.
