The EBU European Affairs team represents the EBU to the Council of Europe (with participatory status), the European Union and other European institutions. The team also keeps the EBU and its members informed on important European issues.
In Strasbourg we work within the Conference of INGOs at the Council of Europe (CoE) with special focus currently on Intercultural cities; Participation in political decision-making; CoE’s Gender Equality Strategy; rights to freedom of association in closing civic spaces, etc.
In Brussels the EBU has signed up the transparency register of the European Parliament & the European Commission. EBU-representatives are regularly invited to conferences and high-level meetings with European religious leaders to discuss the future of Europe.
